Standard referencing styles help you to cite consistently and avoid plagiarism.
QUT supports four referencing styles:

Your unit outline should indicate which style to use in your work. If you have any queries about the style to use, ask your lecturer or tutor.
Some fields prefer styles that are not covered in QUT cite|write. If your lecturer specifies this, they will provide guidance on how to reference in the preferred style. Some common other styles and their sources are:
