Storytelling and oral teaching is an essential aspect of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and must be acknowledged respectfully.

Generally, these should be treated as a personal communication, with an in-text citation only. You can include the citation in the text or in round brackets.

Template

Initials. Family name. (Nation/Country and/or Language Group). Topic/subject of communication if appropriate, personal communication, Month Date, Year.

You may use 'yarning' rather than 'personal communication' if appropriate.
