This is the recommended QUT APA Style. It is based on the standards developed and maintained by the American Psychological Association (APA), and published in their Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association 5th ed . (2001) and subsequent updates. Check that your lecturer or tutor uses the QUT recommended style before you begin your assignment.

Use the template to help you record all the important reference details for the books, journal articles and internet sources that you find for your study. You can also note down some keywords you used to find the information, and other details that might remind you where to find it again if necessary (e.g. a call number, or web address). Once you have all the details, you can then adapt it to suit the referencing style you need to use for your reference lists (e.g. QUT APA, or QUT Harvard).
